Bates, Alan

Actor cinematográfico inglés. Foi unha das grandes figuras do teatro inglés dos últimos anos coa súa formación clásica forxada no Royal Court Theatre. Foi nominado ao Oscar polo seu papel en The fixer (O home de Kiev, 1967). Interpretou moitas películas de éxito, como The entertainer (O animador, 1960), Zorba the greek (Zorba o grego, 1964), Women in love (Mulleres namoradas, 1969) de K. Russell, An unmarried woman (Unha muller solteira, 1978) de P. Mazursky, Quartet (Cuarteto, 1981) de J. Ivory, A prayer for the dying (Réquiem polos que van morrer, 1987), Hamlet (1991), Secret friends (Amigos segredos, 1992) e Silent tongue (Lingua silenciosa, 1993).
