Hardy, Thomas

Escritor inglés. Creou novelas de ambiente rural, dominadas por un determinismo pesimista. Destacan Tess of the D’Urabervilles (1891) e Jude the Obscure (1896). Abandonou a narrativa e publicou Wessex Poems (1888). Ademais da epopea The Dynats (1903-1908), escribiu os libros de poemas Poems of the Past and the Present (1901) e Winter Words (1928).
