Poeta e historiador inglés. A súa obra poética foi moi extensa, desde Poems (1794) ata A Vision of Judgement (1831). Da súa prosa destacan History of Peninsula War (1822-1823), Life of Nelson (1813) e The Doctor (1837-1842).
