Thomas, Hugh Swynnerton

Historiador británico. Profesor na University of Reading (1966-1975), dirixiu o Centre for Policy Studies de Londres (1979-1991). Antigo militante laborista, máis tarde afiliouse ao Conservative Party e en 1981 entrou na Cámara dos Lores. Especialista en temas hispanos, escribiu The Spanish Civil War (1961, Somerset Maugham Prize), Cuba or The Pursuit of Freedom (1971), An Unfinished History of the World (1779), The Conquest of Mexico (1993), World History, The Story of Mankind from Prehistory to the Present (1996) e Slave Trade (1997).
